Project RICH (Revival of Indigenous Cultural Heritage)
Revival of Indigenous Cultural Heritage (RICH) project funded by Directorate of Culture has implemented diverse cultural activities in collaboration with local implementing partners (IPs) at Tehsil level in 25 Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The objective of this project is to focus on revival, protection, projection and promotion of the indigenous cultural treasure through all possible approaches. For this purpose 57 organizations have been given small grants and implemented more 1500 cultural activities.
The project carried out numerous activities to raise awareness and practice these elements. Project RICH was executed in two phases, six months for each phase. The categories of the elements being practiced successfully includes Folk music, Folk dance, Cultural games, Exhibition of traditional craftsmanship (Artifacts), Interactive theaters, poetic recitations, capacity building seminars and training workshop, Practice of Jirga system, a taste of traditional cuisine and many other activities to revive and promote the lifestyle once the KP citizens used to live.
Through the implementation of more than 1500 different cultural activities, the hidden young talent explored and provided an opportunity folk artists along with providing them an opportunity of livelihood.
